In a recent interview with UK newspaper, the Daily Mail, Gareth Bale said Real Madrid is working more as a team since Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure.
Five-time Ballon d’Or winner, Cristiano Ronaldo, moved to Juventus earlier this year for US$117 million, ending his nine-year run at the Spanish top club.
While at Los Blancos, Ronaldo scored a staggering 451 goals in 430 appearances and won two La Liga titles and four Champions League trophies.
In spite of his staggering record at Madrid, his former teammate thinks Ronaldo leaving may be the best thing to have happened to Madrid.
Ronaldo’s departure has allowed Bale to take centre stage, with the Welshman registering three goals and two assists in four games this season.
The 29-year-old has revealed that things are more relaxed at the club following Ronaldo’s exit, and confessed that things are different.
He told The Daily Mail : “Obviously it’s going to be a little different from having such a big player there.
“It’s maybe a bit more relaxed, yes. I suppose there is more of a team, more working as one unit rather than one player.”
